Race Info
This is the first year of the Legacy Spring Triathlon event! The Legacy Center offers a large full-featured facility for this event with an eight-lane 25 yard pool for the swim, and is situated in the heart of Lehi, UT with plenty of surrounding low-traffic streets for a great bike and run course!
The Legacy Spring Triathlon is a great race for both beginners and experienced athletes. With the race's shorter distances (it's a "mini-sprint"), it's less intimidating to the beginner triathlete, runner, or swimmer curious to try a taste of multisport, and perfect for the veteran looking for an opportunity to stay in shape with a little friendly competition. You'll like the swim's shorter distance and placement in a pool (as opposed to a lake)- you won't need to run out and buy that wetsuit for this race!
Race Details
The Legacy Spring Triathlon will be held partially indoors in the Legacy Center and partially outdoors. In order to maintain an orderly event, registration will be limited to the first 300 registered racers. Make sure you register as soon as possible to secure your participation in the event!
Race registration and packet pick up will be available Friday evening at 7:00 pm, and Saturday morning at 7:00 am in the Legacy Center.
Please pick up your race packet the evening before if possible to avoid the lines Saturday morning. If you are going to
pick up your packet on Saturday, please arrive early to ensure you have enough time to get registered prior to the race start. Bodymarking will also take
place at this time as well.
The race will begin promptly at the pool side at 9:00am.
The race will start with the swim first, time trial fashion.
To reduce congestion in the pool, participants will be seeded in
the swim by estimated pace, fastest ones first. Participants will line up near the
pool by the locker rooms and will be started one at a time on 15 second intervals. The swim
will proceed in a serpentine fashion 1 lap in each lane of the pool, then crossing
under the lane to the next until all 8 lanes have been completed.
Upon completion of the swim,
racers will exit the pool, exit the pool facility's west doors to the outside, and to the transition area in the south area
of the parking lot. Racers will proceed through the transition area through the appropriate entrance and exits and begin the
bike course. The bike course will consist of a two loop course on nearby residential streets. The course will be well marked and
be populated with volunteers to direct the racers appropriately.
After the bike leg has been completed, racers will enter the
transition area once again through the appropriate entrance in preparation for the run event. Racers will complete a full 3.1 mi.
single loop to complete the race and finish in the Legacy Center parking lot.
Awards will be given three deep to all age groups, both men and women from 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+, physically challenged. Additional awards will be given for Clydesdale (men over 200 lbs) and Athena (women over 145 lbs) categories.

Race Timing
Race timing will be handled via an automated timing system utilizing timing chips. This tracking will be based on each participant's
race registration information. Participants will be required to wear timing chips-in order to ensure proper recordings, racers must ensure
their timing chips are worn on the left ankle as specified by the timing directors.
This timing method allows us to stagger the swim start and still get a fair and accurate timing for the total race time,
and full split timings for the swim, bike, run and transitions!
Timing results will be available here online when the race is complete.
